An Autumn Bouquet

It's a Monday in late fall, with skies gray like Eeyore’s coat. With a cool night to come, I'm gathering flowers, the last of some for this year. Here’s what adorns the table now: white yarrow on short stems, white classic zinnias, lantanas, purple, new gold, the old fashioned butter and eggs, and one called irene with bright fuchsia and gold blooms, clothilde soupert rose, white impatiens, pink sasanquas, asters in purple and magenta, mexican petunia, another rose called butterfly, coral honeysuckle, sweet olive for old timey sweet smell, butterfly bush, plus miscanthus gentle fronds.
